Neurodiversity-Affirming

Assent-Based

Compassionate &

Improving Quality of Life

Hi, I’m Lisa Murphy, BCBA. I began working in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2017 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2018. Throughout my career, I have supported children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities across home, clinic, residential, and community settings.

I’m the owner, creator, educator, and advocate behind ABA Changes Academy. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, assent-based, and compassionate, with a focus on meaningful quality of life. I believe in the power of people, compassion, and evidence-based practice to create meaningful change.

I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring RBTs and other ABA professionals. I’m also the author of A Geek’s Guide to Applied Behavior Analysis, which reflects one of my primary goals: making ABA relatable, practical, and easy to understand.

Through ABA Changes Academy, I hope to help professionals move beyond simply memorizing terminology or following procedures. I want learners to understand why our practices matter and how to provide ethical, respectful, and genuinely meaningful support to the people we serve.
